Davco Farming Overview

Davco Farming is an irrigated sugarcane farming business located adjacent to the Burdekin River 24 kilometers to the west of Ayr, North Queensland, Australia. Statistics include:
  • 2450 ha cultivated - fully irrigated by furrow
  • Crop production 250,000 tonnes at 15% sucrose
  • Commenced sugarcane production in 1987
  • Development of grazing land to irrigated cropping since 1970s
  • Annual rainfall 900mm (80% Dec-March)
  • Crop irrigation requirement 9 to 10 ML/ha/annum
